One of the biggest mistakes, at least in my opinion, folks in various online industries make is confusing “work from home” with “be my own boss”. There is a massive night and day difference!
How many times have you searched online to find a job, a REAL job where you can actually do the work from home and you come up with every crazy “make money online” scam you could possibly imagine?
My point exactly.
The reason for this has nothing to do with the lack of actual jobs but everything to do with the fact industry leaders have figured out your “buying triggers” are EXACTLY the same as those folks looking for a business opportunity.
What is a “buying trigger”? It’s actually very simple, and in this letter I’m going to peel back the curtain behind why and how you’re marked to by these massive internet artists… and you can avoid and in may ways THRIVE off of their own tactics!
What Is A Buying Trigger?
Simply put a buying trigger is an emotional want/need you have which causes you to make a purchase. Marketers tap into these triggers by offering you exactly what you think you are looking for.
Here’s an example: Gayle from Team Double Click and I recently conducted a little pole where we asked folks coming to her site, people who were looking for legitimate “Work From Home” jobs what their biggest concerns were.
The results were not all that shocking:
63.5% of everyone said “Lack of legitimate work from home jobs”
95.1% said their biggest problem at home was “Finances”
Hmmmmm. I wonder how an online marketer would cash in on these needs?
Here’s How It’s Done – SCAM Reports!
The first tactic used to suck you into buying something you may not need is the “Watch Out For Scams!” tactic.
Seen these before? You’ll search through Google, Yahoo, MSN and you’ll start seeing these ads along the sides telling you how if you click the link they’ll take you to a page where you will ONLY find legitimate work from home careers!
What’s the result?
Not good. For the most part these sites are doing what’s called “Affiliate Marketing”. This is one of the most basics ways to make money online and it involves very simply tossing up a website and selling other peoples products for a cut of the sale.
End of story! People who use this tactic do not need a product of their own, they do not even need a website in many cases!
But you need to be aware of this tactic so you’re not pulled in…
How It’s Done – Make Fast, Easy Money From Home
Remember that 95.1% statistic I flashed at you a few paragraphs ago? Welcome to the #1 emotional buying trigger in the world!
Money. Cash. Getting Rich. Fast, Easy, Be In Control, Retire Early… all of these are trigger words/phrases you’ll see all over the place when you’re looking for some legitimate online work.
Here is where the Biz op brigade (business opportunity peddlers) start to infringe on the lives of folks who just want a W2 paycheck….
Think about how cool it would be for you to start making the money you’re really worth… not just working for some dorky company, but actually making money hand over fist, while you sleep, and in numbers you’ve only dreamed of…
And there you have it. When you read that last paragraph how did it make you feel? Even if you’re the most skeptical, jaded person on the planet a part of you really yearns for what I just said to come true.
That’s how it works. That’s how you’re pulled in.
You click the link which promises a future of rich abundance… you land on a page with an insane headline screaming of success you’ve always wanted to achieve… you read a page that’s punctuated by huge cash screen shots, pictures of people sleeping on the beach, doing all the things you’ve always wanted to do…
Then you get to the end… and for the low, low investment of just $29.95 you can unlock the very same secrets that have brought all these other people… people just like you wealth beyond imagine!
Buy Now.
What Do You Do?
Have you ever purchased a product like this? Come on! Be honest! Have you ever thought about it? Have you ever felt your hand twitch towards your wallet as your eyes grazed down the very well laid out page?
Don’t be ashamed. I’ve bought these products to the tune of about $10,000! Some suck, some rock. Such is the nature of life.
But at the end of the day you need to be aware of the massive difference between a “Business Opportunity” and a “Work From Home Job”.
Companies like Team Double Click are actual “JOBS”. You get paid to do real work with real companies… but places like this are few and far between.
What You Must Know About The Coming Economic Crisis
I don’t want to freak you out here, but I’m going to shed some extremely harsh light on a truth you might already be feeling in your guts…
The world of employment as you know it has come to an end. The reason there are so many Network/Multi-Level Marketing companies out there trying to “Sell You” a job is for the simple fact large corporations have discovered they can virtually remove labor overhead and turn their workforce into another revenue stream… by simply selling the job.
Is this bad? Maybe. But what is more important than focusing the suck factor and seeming scammy nature of these increasing situations is to focus on what you can do about it.
Know your outcome. Know what you want and have a plan to get there.
Seriously, it does not matter if you’re fiendishly tailoring your resume for your 63rd interview or if you’re launching a new internet business because you’re sick of waiting for somebody else to say you can get paid… you need a plan.
You need a plan and you need to act on said plan.
Understand what you’re getting into before you take out your credit card and “invest” in your future… too many people loose too much money because they don’t do a gut check.
Pick, plan and stick.
Pick: Your goal… do you want a “job” or do you want to start a business?
Either way you need to have a written goal and…
Plan: You need to have a path laid out so you can achieve your goal. I’m sure you’ve heard the cliché… “Fail to plan means you’re planning to fail.” No truer words have been spoken.
Stick: You will encounter obstacles, be ready for them and expect them. But above all else stick to your path, keep your eye on your prize and go for it with everything you are.
It really does not matter if you’re looking for your next Job or if you want a million dollar business… the time, effort and energy are almost exactly the same, the obstacles are almost exactly the same… it’s up to YOU to make them happen!
I hope you find this information helpful, and I would very much appreciate it if you were to post any and all questions you have on this blog.
Who knows… I might just write another post just for you!
Please, post your questions down below now!

I think that was a great blog, but I was hoping for a little more direction. As I’ve been in and out of attempting to find my own nich as an independent contractor, I’ve seen all the get rich quick schemes out here. And I do appreciate you confirming my beliefs. I’ve bought the brooklyn bridge enough times not to fall for that game any more. But issue is simple, it’s hard to get your foot in the door. I am an administrative assistant, and a good one. And as much I’ve signed up with a few company’s like “Team Double Click” and all of these company’s are legitimate. How do you get some of the work they have to offer! But I will follow your instruction, Pick, Plan and Stick. That’s probably the best encouragement I’ve had in a while. Thanks for listening!
Hey, this is great stuff! I wasn’t able to get in for over 2 hours but then got that email about the server crashing. Pretty insane! This is really cool of you to put this info out for folks like me to get it. Thank you. I plan on taking full advantage!
Anyway, my question is this: I’m trying to start my own business but don’t know how to really get kicking. I think the VA road is the right one, but I’m finding it’s hard to find clients.
How do I find clients? And I guess that’s going to lead to the next question… what’s the best way to keep them?
Thanks again Jonny I’m looking forward to hearing what you have to say!
Scott
Janice,
Direction. Yes! But first we must start with “hi… how are you…” That’s what this little interview is all about. The goal here is to get you in the mindset to work with some new ideas.
What we’ll start doing next are some live calls. I’ll blast off a quick survey, you give some answers and then I’ll create a kick-ass program around what it is you want and need.
Pretty sweet stuff!
On yea, sorry about that server crash today. I’m really glad you stuck around to check it all out.
Scott… no didn’t skip you… I’ll be back with info in just a second…
Jonny
Scott,
Now it’s your turn.
How do you get clients? That’s both easy and hard to answer. First off you need to decide what sort of clients you want. Once you have that down you’ll want to figure out what they will require of you.
I guess you could call this the “selling without selling” method. I’ve had about 9million questions similar to this from the Internet Marketing kids I work with.
Here are some fast answers and I’ll get more into this in later emails/calls.
SEO - try local markets. For almost no cash out of pocket you can have a site up and running that pulls in lots and lots of traffic.
Classifieds - cheap and horribly ineffective. However… they do work!
Cold calling - most people would rather eat their own face than do this. But if you’re game, I have scripts!
There’s also media. But we’ll have to get more into that later. Lots and lots of details.
Yes, so make sure you ask that in the next survey coming up.
Jonny
How do you make your clients to really believe that you can work from home professional.
They always want you to come to their offices once or twice a week how do you avoid this and total work remotely.
I just want to say that I recently joined a real estate guru from the US, I don’t know if I’m allowed to mention his name, but it’s something like 21 streams of income available. It costs me 40 dollars a month, until I’ve paid a total of 500 dollars. Before that I joined another Internet Marketing company and paid over $4000.00 about a year ago which has not yielded me a cent; the only thing I have to show for it is a website. I blame myself…I’m obviously a perfect target for these money making internet opportunities. I’ve paid out a decent amount of money and had nothing in return. I believe the hype and then one I’ve paid the money I find out that I don’t understand the instructions or like how you go about making the money. Put quite simply, they are way over my head, or it’s something I don’t want to do. Bottom line, I don’t think I’m the right kind of person for attempting these schemes, but I sure would like to get back some of the money I’ve spent I’ve been retired since 2002 and live on a limited income and I’m in debt up to my eyeballs…of course, my fault.
I have a nice website, well maintained. It has been summitied beginning of June to search engines but isn’t doing much traffic. The prices are reasonable and there is a great varity of products which does cahnge from time to time. How can I get people onto my site. If they would sign onto e-mail, i can send them discount coupons to help stimulate returned buying but i need to get them there first. Last but not least I have no money at this time. Thanks for any help
Blessing,
Great question! The first thing would be to get new clients. Try working outside of your local market and really show them proof elements you can be trusted to work from home.
Client testimonials are key in everything. Get some. In regular W2 life it’s called “a letter of reference”.
Does that make sense?
Jonny
Jan,
Damn girl! Yes, let’s see if we can fix that little problem of yours.
You know that part of the interview with Gayle where I say to pick a niche and interview a bunch of big names in it? Easy. Cheap.
For example… if you click on the title of this blog you’ll be taken to the actual landing page where I am interviewing an individual named Alex Goad.
Alex Goad is a huge dude in the industry and I made a boat load of sales from doing it.
Cost? Nada.
You can easily do the same thing.
Shoot me an email. I’ll help you out.
Jonny
I currently work from home as a bookkeeper but do not get enough hours. What I would like is some data entry to do when I am not doing work for my current client. I have searched the Internet until I feel like my eyes are going to pop from my head. How can one find legimate data entry that is NOT medical transcription? How they can call that data entry I do not know. I have an AS Degree in it and cannot pass the tests to get a real paying job even though I graduated with at 3.8 GPA.
Lee,
Ahhhhhhhhh yes. Old familiar territory.
#1: never submit your site to the SE’s.
#2: what are your keywords?
Here’s what you need to do:
#1: Research keywords. If you’re flat broke you’ll want to use the Google External Keyword Tool
https://adwords.google.com/select/KeywordToolExternal
Find stuff people are looking for.
#2: Install Wordpress on your site. See this page you’re on now? Its wordpress. How much did this entire thing cost me? NADA. The program as well as the pretty skin you’re looking at is free.
http://www.Wordpress.org
Get it.
#3: You need to fork out money for an autoresponder. See that name/email capture thing I have up in the right corner? That’s the ticket to your life turning around.
No shit.
Cost: $20/month. Find the cash.
Let’s put it all in line…
Find great keywords that people are Googling and offer them killer content on your blog. Invite them to join your list… sell stuff to them that they want.
End of story.
Lather, rinse, repeat.
No kidding. I do this every day and it has allowed me to give my old bosses the finger. 91 days is what it took for me to go from having my unemployment run out to making an average of $379/day income.
I used EXACTLY the same tactics I’m talking about on this blog. Not holding anything back. There is no Dark Guru Secret you need to know. This is it. It is simple. It can be free and it is always cheap.
Shoot me an email and I’ll check out your site.
Jonny
Jackie,
Don’t for one second get down on yourself for not being able to get “a real job”
Personally… I’m un-freaking employable. I’m a raging asshole to any form of authority and
the idea of “applying for work” makes my teeth itch.
If you’re having trouble moving down one road it’s time to find a new road. What else are you good at? Your GPA blows mine away. Do you write? Do you speak? What do you enjoy?
How can you add value to other peoples lives OTHER than data entry?
What are your goals? Let’s dig up some joy here and freaking carve a new road for you.
Sound good?
Jonny
Hi Jonny I just received this blog I agree with what you say about being riped off on the internet. I am a single mom with 2 small children one going into grade 2 in sept. and the other one just starting school in sept. with the schedules of the kids and the cost of daycare I want a job working from home so I don’t have the cost of day care. I have been out of work since the end of Aug. last year and have no money to spend on anything. Any help you can give me to get started working from home would be greatly welcome. Thank you very much
I know what I want. I work full-time Monday - Friday and am looking to work part-time from my home office in the area of customer service; administrative/clerical or account management. I need to work in the eveinigs from 7:00pm to 11:00PM EST. I have seen just about all of the scams/schemes and down right ridicoulous stuff out there. Even the so-called legit work from home listings are a joke. I have registered with so many sites and responded to so many job posts…I am blue in the face!!! I have 13+ years of experience in account management/customer service. I am experienced, efficient and have yet to find a part-time job to fit my needs. Please advise on where I might find a work from home part-time job that is flexible and meets my skills.
Dawn. No problem.
Here’s what you need to do:
Make up a list of the 5 things you’re into the most. Here’s a hint… talk about the kids.
People buy insane stuff for their kids.
You want to blow up? I’m thinking media. Get yourself a blog!
Jonny
Karen,
That’s a tough one. In all honesty I spent about 2 years going to interviews, working and reworking my resume. I was told no more times than I can think of. I actually HAD to start something for myself before I saw my first non-government sponsored paycheck!
What you might want to do is focus on the needs of the clients. What do they need that you can fill?
Rather than saying “I would be a great fit for this position” try something like…
“I want to help you sell more product… have better customer service” something like that.
It sounds weird, but it’s less like you’re trying to sell yourself and more like you’re offering to help them.
Night and day difference.
Jonny
Jonny, I’ve read the blog. Read the comments. Still in the dark. I signed up with Team Double Click months and months ago and all I’ve received are newsletters. No jobs. I signed up with at least 6 other VA or customer service companies. Received newsletters. No jobs. I have written and written to Gayle asking how do I get a job from TDC? No answers. I have written and written to all these other sites the same question. No answers. Personally, I think they are all scams. Even the oh-so-legitimate sounding TDC! You need to spend hundreds of dollars on their training to even get on a list for prospective work. I think I have figured that out…finally. I have over 30 years of progressively difficult administrative work; i.e., I was the admin to a Governor, I ran my own businesses, I have done taxes professionally and held a real estate license for 10 years. I have experience! No one answers my letters. I am not even sure what it is you are offering. We all have spent 1000’s of dollars on the scams. But even the good ones pull you in. The take your money without even a thank you.
Am I disillusioned? You bet! Am I angry? You betcha!
Judy
dear,
im indonesian people and live here. please help me to get/made value sebsite to generate a lot of money. no scam
Yas,
You need a site? Cool, and not a problem.
Here’s what you need to do: Pick a market.
Once you know a market that’s hungry, and buying stuff you’re pretty much good to go.
Let me know
Jonny
Judy,
I totally hear where you’re coming from. I guess the reason I can say that is because I’ve been in your situation time after time after time after time.
First off… the idea of “scam” is not really correct. I know it sometimes feels that way, but the reality is quite simple: Not everything works for every person. In every single situation you will find yourself in there are highly-volatile factors which will change the outcome from person to person.
For example: I have a number of programs I teach where people pay money to learn “stuff”. I provide about 25 hours of videos showing everyone how to go from zero to HUGE using a whole bunch of kick-ass tools that don’t cost a fortune.
How many people do you think make it? Not everyone. Yet these tools and tactics are the exact tools and tactics I use personally to run my business. So why is it not everyone succeeds?
Some factors are personal. Statistics show less than 10% of people even bother to read the materials they purchase. That means 90% of folks feel like they’ve achieved something simply by having taken out their credit card.
When asked “Did it work for you?” Their response is: “No, didn’t really pan out”.
Does that make it a scam? Not at all.
Now, of that 10% who do choose to take action… just shy of 100% of them will fail the first time.
Why? That’s just how the world works. Failure is not an outcome it’s a test result. When you choose to take action there are several things which much come into play in order to have it be a success.
In almost every case if one of those factors is just a bit “off” then the whole thing can go to pot.
In these situations I like to ask people if they play an instrument or sing. It’s a great way to illustrate a very important point:
If you have never played guitar and one day decide to pick one up… how likely do you think it will be that you’ll instantly be able to play like Hendrix or Claptain or BB King?
Not going to happen. Even though you have the exact notes, the exact strumming patterns and everything you need right in front of you… the element of practice and personal ownership is missing.
Case in point: I recorded a 58 minute coaching call with a dude named Kevin who used a method of mine to try to promote a product launch.
He made $0.
Why? Was my method crap? Was it a scam?
Not at all. In the call I showed him exactly where he went wrong and why people did not visit his page.
He had most of the factors correct… but the main ones like headlines and offers were just “off” enough to deter buyers.
To continue my captain-dork-o guitar analogy he was playing the right song, with the right finger postilions… but ha had his hands in the wrong place on the fret board.
Did he do it again? Yes.
Did it work when he did it correctly? Yes.
These principals apply to each and every action you take. It does not matter if you’re looking for work or if you’re trying to build your own company… you have to battle with the radicals and you have to have your plan lined up.
I’m willing to bet you’re taking lots and lots of actions. I’m willing to bet you’re getting the same result time after time after time…
It’s time to start looking at those actions.
Somewhere in the methodology you use to try to achieve your goals sleeps your results killer.
Examine your strategy, locate that killer, weed it out.
Once you have done that… see if anything changes.
I’m willing to bet you’ll be very happy.
Jonny
Hey buddy, get with a color scheme - who can read gray on gray?
Loraine,
Come on… need a little artistic license! But if it’s hard for you to read it sounds like your contrast is off on your monitor. Up the bright and you’ll be fine
Jonny
I have been with TDC since Jan 08 and have had several clients. The training offered is not mandatory and they do have a few that are free. Sounds like you need to re-evaluate your techniques. Contact your representative a couple of times a week to make sure your name is top on her list.
Make sure you are putting yourself out there on any free marketing lists available. My school of thought, until I can check them out further, NEVER give someone my money to help me develop my business. It took me 3 weeks of research just to contact TDC for the interview process.
I can relate to what most of you are saying. I’ve spent about a thousand for my VA certificate, hours on the internet searching for ‘work from home’ jobs and paid some money/subscription to most of this sites but I’ve never been successful. Is it true that you rarely find your clients on the internet?
Pam,
To be honest I ONLY find my clients on the internet. The problem you’re having is in the way people have taught you to go about finding them. As in all things… there’s a right way and then 10,000 wrong ways.
It’s tough, don’t get me wrong. But it can be done!
Jonny
Jonny,
I have a passion for Life-Coaching. Do you have any tips on how to get started virtually?
Nell,
Life-Coaching? Indeed I do! That’s a great market and one that is totally exploding online. Fantastic growth and it’s pretty easy to break into… if you come at it with the “what’s in it for you” mentality.
FYI: by “you” I mean your potential JV partners, prospects and customers.
You need to be totally willing to give of yourself unselfishly… when you do this you’ll be amazed how quickly you can grow.
Of course it also helps to have a plan and to engineer this growth!
Make sure you ask your questions when we do the live call.
Jonny
I am a VIrtual Assistant and only recieved one client and two perspective clients through advertising on the internet. My three clients have come from word of mouth or referrals from my clients.
My question is the one client that I have had for at least 6 months was paying me faithfully every week until they started experiencing difficuties with the company. Since May they have now merge with another company, but I have not received payment on 3 of their invoices. The client keeps telling me a date on when I will receive payment, but somethings always happens where I don’t. How do I go about collecting payment on these past due invoices; they have been past due since March of 2008?
Alisa,
I absolutely hate accounts receivable. Had to do it for a company a while back and I’ll never do it again.
#1: make sure you have a credit card backup on them so you can bill when you have to.
#2: make sure you have a signed contract detailing your billing/collections information.
#3: make sure in that contract you have a personal guarantee… that means if the company folds
or is bought out, the debt transfers to the individual and is not covered under the corporate entity.
I would suggest your own variation of the 15, 30, 60, 90…
15 day payables. If they go past that you’ll hit them with an email/letter/call. Very friendly but “hey, did you miss me?”
30 days out a bit more stern…
60 days threat of collections
90 days send it to an outside collection agency.
This is a problem many, many small business owners face on a daily basis. If your clients go sideways with their business then that will affect you in a very bad way.
It’s best to stay professional, keep it friendly… but you need to remember it’s your butt on the line of the bills aren’t paid. I’ve seen lots and lots of contractors go through this. Even thought it might not be their fault… it’s YOUR problem.
Always communicate… always be open…
If they’re just blowing you off then you’ll know it instantly.
Here’s what you do:
Take what they owe you and divide it into 12 week installments. Set up a paypal account with recurring billing and have that amount be the amount they owe.
You then call them, tell them you can’t do any more work until they pay down 50% of what is owed.
The idea here is NOT to cripple them but to get everything working on time.
Give them 2 choices:
Option A: they can get on the payment plan until the outstanding bill reaches the 50% mark. At that time, so long as they agree everything is COD you will resume work.
Option B: they can pay you 25% - 50% upfront, get on the payment plan now and all future work will be on a COD basis until the past due is paid in full.
By using a recurring billing with PayPal this will remove you from the thankless job of “debt collector” and put you back in the drivers seat doing what you’re good at and what you love.
Does that help?
Jonny
I read a review the other day from a gentleman who summed up the evils of the Internet with humor and sarcasm. The funny thing was he was pretty accurate about human gullibility.
Jonny, I read this, really, I READ it all. I have been sucked into the vortex of “Work-at-home” scams just like everyone else. I’ve reported money order frauds to the FBI (THAT was a $3500.00 eye-opener), I’ve cited scam companies on RipOffReport.com, but so far, I’ve become VERY good at finding out the hard way what NOT to do. I read emails for months at a time, so I can collect my $30.00 every 4 months or so. I’ve done the reviews for $2.00 a pop until I goofed and copied a posting of mine to their site and they nastily cancelled me. I’ve done surveys until I could write the damn things. Still, nothing. I’m SO willing to do the work, but even someone as intelligent as I am gets lost in the maze of double-talk and b.s.
I have two web sites, and I’m not going into the whole traffic generating, enlist search engines and marketing strategies which are truly the ways to increase your clientele. I martyred myself at my last job to save 3 other jobs, and since then I have been diligently searching for a way to generate income. Look, I’m a simple person; I DON’T want to be rich, really. I don’t NEED to drive a Porsche, or a Lamborghini. My little Rav4 is just fine. I DO need to pay the rent, utilities and maybe have some left over for pizza or Chinese. Hell, Paris is SO overrated, why would I really want to go there? I’ve become a professional interviewer trying the job market locally, again, to no avail.
I’ve lived, I’ve learned and I’m ready to make an HONEST income. I don’t want to be a penniless affiliate (been there, done that, HATED it), I’ve done the paydotcom and clixsense til I see hoplinks in my sleep.
I am so there with Judy and Janice. I too am an exceptional Admin, with experience up the yin-yang, but after putting that on paper, what good is it?
So I guess my question is no longer what can I do on the Internet, but what can the Internet do for me?
Donna,
Yep. I know just where you’re coming from. Let me paint 2 very different pictures for you… and tell me if anything is hitting home:
Picture #1: Person sits at their computer for hours at a time. This person is a highly intelligent, hard working individual who just wants to make a living doing what he/she loves.
Days… weeks… months… years go by and still this person has not been able to make anything happen.
They ask why, they are working their asses off all the time! Why isn’t anything happening?
Picture #2: Similar person who sits at their computer for hours at a time. This person is highly intelligent, hard working and is making a killing online.
They have other people doing the busy work.
They have other people promoting their products.
They have loyal subscribers who love to hear from them and rabidly eat up any and all products this person makes…
They enjoy 6 months out of the year on vacation.
They are relaxed.
They have time for friends and family.
Here’s the big question: What is person #2 doing that person #1 is not?
Here’s the answer…
Person #2 is putting their focus on the actions that bring in money.
Person #1 has made the mistake of confusing busy work with accomplishment.
Why?
In the “Job world” all a person typically has to do is show up, perform a few tasks and a paycheck magically appears. They are told what to do… and what to do is frequently mundane, repetitive mindless tasks.
They are a machine. They are a small gear in a much larger mechanism.
Person #1 is failing 100% of the time because they do not yet understand a very, very, VERY fundamental fact…
Hard work DOES NOT EQUAL results and/or accomplishment. Ever.
You can spend the rest of your life “working hard” for something. You may even be able to get a “Job” doing this “hard work”. However, when you step out onto the stage of “Work From Home” or “Be My Own Boss” the entire picture changes.
99.99% of people fail because A: they do not even know this change exists and B: when they do realize something has shifted they refuse to acknowledge the difference between what was before and what is after.
This is where your failure is happening.
You have focused on the bottom of the ladder. You have translated the offline ideal of “hard work” to the online world.
To quote the old computer saying: “Syntax Does Not Compute…”
Here is a short list of what you must start focusing on before you will see any results:
#1: Stop working for peanuts. Surveys and all that other stuff is pure crap and the only reason people market them so hard is to get people like you to fill them out. Who cares about $2 jobs? Not I. Wouldn’t you rather do half the work and make $200?
#2: Stop thinking “Busy work/Tasking” is somehow going to translate into a payday. Not going to happen. No matter how many times you put one foot in front of the other… if you’re on one of those hamster jogging balls you’re never getting anywhere.
Think about it… data entry is a crap job OFFLINE… what makes you think it’ll pay anymore online?
I can tell you’re an intelligent person… you should put that to use.
#3: Rather than getting sucked into all of these “buy now” situations why not watch what they DO to get you excited? Do as I DO… not as I TELL YOU TO DO… (hint, hint… this is where you start paying attention to the machine behind the emotions)
#4: Start focusing on things like systems and automation rather than BEING the system… when you fill out surveys you’re being paid like crap because they could just as easily get a machine to do it. They’re hoping you’ll buy more product… start watching HOW they do it.
#5: Begin asking questions like “what can I do to turn what I love into what pays me?” Rather than “How can I find a job that’ll pay me to do meaningless tasks?”
Big difference.
#6: Start seeing yourself as being worth more than what you have done in the past. If you seek out low-level, scam infested opportunities it says something about your self image. Why do you do this? Discover the root of your drive… why have you had the same experiences over and over and over… you and I are on the same internet yet you and I have very different tales to tell.
When you understand why you hunt in the muck you can then raise your eyes to what is really possible.
Here’s the bottom line: until you make changes in your own mind you will always be victimized by people who want to take advantage of you. But it’s not their fault… it’s yours.
I know that may sound harsh… but every single person with an “I got scammed” story… how should I say this…
Fool me once shame on you… fool me twice…
Where are you in that?
Elevate your self worth and start asking more powerful questions. Those 2 things will revolutionize your life almost over night. The rest is learning to watch what other people do and adopting it into your own way of doing things. (It’s called “modeling”)
Hope that helps!
Jonny
Also… (sorry, forgot to ad this)
If you already have 2 sites, it shows you’re trying. That’s fantastic! But where is your focus? What are your URLs? Let me see them and I might be able to shed some light on all this.

Participating in international sites where I have to see video does not, just because I speak Portuguese, but if it is written, then yes I can participate without problems.
I too have search the web for many years to supplement my income with no avail. I have learned to stay away from sights that promise the world and give you nothing. I am now retired or forced to retire from Law Enforcement because of an illness, but I am still to young to even retire. I have a bachelor in Business Management which really has not helped me with online business. The regular ideas used in business may be the same, but its approach is different on line. I thought I could work online and own my own store selling products, and I have lined up some good liquidators that have good products. the problem I have have is finding that up and coming niche that everyone talks about. I started selling on E-bay as a hobby, but this site has started to become expense for a small starting out business. My question is how to i find the up an coming niche before it becomes saturated. I have established a web store at sfbl3910.Ecrater.com, but find myself not having enough traffic to sell the little items I have placed on the site. please review my question and my website and tell me what mistakes are made and what can make it better. i currently have placed ads at advertisement 2000 and Google.
Dennis,
Great question, and one I I frequently get a lot. The hardest part of this whole online thing is picking HOW you want to get into your niche, then you need to get that niche…
What you said about everything being over saturated is true… however unlike the brick and mortar business world competition online is the best thing you could hope for.
Competition is an indicator people are making a killing in that niche. You do not, and SHOULD NOT be the first person through the door. Ever.
In the online world competition means potential partners, JV’s, massive income potential unlike anything you’ve ever seen.
Your store? I took a look and am not sure what the primary focus of that landing page is. What should I be doing there? The users goals need to be clear.
I would strongly suggest NOT spending money on ads until you clean up the psychology on your landing page. I don’t think it will convert.
Make sure you ask your questions and get in on that call Wed. We’re going to be covering a lot of ground

What can I do to help the psychology of my landing page. This website is just selling products in four different categories. I have come across a good sale of new Hannah Montana Memory Books and Starbucks Gourmet Cocoa, and wanted to sell them at a low price which many might enjoy. the other items I have are used items like books I read once, and miniature doll house furniture. I guess the purpose of this site is to sell products. How do we prepare the site to entice projected buyers that are already at the sight.
Dennis,
First off you want to target 1 niche at a time. If you’re into the Hanna Montana then stick with that, or if you’re into used books then stick with that…
But when you lump them into 1 page and people have no idea what to do when they get there… they tend to go away.
Your logo: What is that? It looks like it has nothing to do with what you sell. Change it.
Your “Welcome Message” This should be a headline that hits the visitor with their #1 emotional benefit. Like “Get Hanna Montana Cheap” (I’ll be honest I have NO IDEA who that is! So as far as the words to use that’s 100% up to you!)
Have a singular purpose to the site. When you give people too many options you tend to get crappy results.
Those are the first few ideas I have! The rest we can cover a bit later
Jonny
I too have looked for ways to supplement my income. I am glad that I have had the tools available to me through professional sources I have affiliations with over the years. Scams are rapid these days and I am lucky to have had the knowledge to stay from those sites. To me education is the key. I recently became interested in auto responders, affiliate marketing and squeeze pages. I am all set up and ready to start building my lists.
Brenda,
Very cool! I’m glad to see you’re starting to kick some butt and take names.
I checked out your site… who is this ecrater.com? Looks like a self-replicating
sort of solution.
How has that been working for you?
Jonny

I don’t know If this is a suitable question on this block. I don’t know if I must reload the material or not. Maybe I’m just to dum. I’m running Windows Home edition with Firefox browser. Please help
Thanks
Carl
